Well, this week was filled with a ton of stuff. I'm still not used to having 8 am classes, but the places we visit seem to make up for the lost sleep time. We visited the World Health Organization and the United Nations this week. The UN was super legit. They have a great view of the Alps and I have an awesome official badge to visit the library whenever I want. I think the coolest part is the fact that they have peacocks roaming free all over the UN grounds. The man who donated the land specified that the peacocks had to roam free. Chelsea and I almost lost the group trying to take video of a peacock opening it's wings... fail. When we went to the WHO we found out it was closed from 12-2 soo we had to eat lunch at the International Migration Office. Their cafeteria was less then satisfying - the only interesting thing was what seemed to be a senile man who was defiantly yelling at us in french. I just ignored in and ate my quiche (which was not very good). Afterward, we had about an hour to kill so we just laid on the grass at the WHO (oh yea, we stuck out like a sore thumb).
Peacock Fail
The program makes us take french class MT&Tr for three hours a session. Our teacher Giselle is really nice, but I'm still super worn out by the end of the day. In addition to my formal french classes, Thierry and Francelina have started to write phrases on a chalkboard every morning for me to translate by the end of the day. Luckily the sound of Thierry's attempts to sing Gorillaz songs is one of the most amusing things I've witnessed in a while. Then again, the fact that they play euro-techno when they cook dinner is pretty awesome too. I'm defiantly starting to get into the swing of things which is nice. I think my host family likes me a lot, which is good.
r. It was defiantly sugary... too sugary. The name second round we ordered escapes me, but it was this disgusting and dark and licorice flavored. Anyway, for a Tuesday, Cactus Jack was legit, two thumbs up. Surprisingly though, I did not try one of their margaritas - probably because they are 12 dollars -.- Speaking of going out, we've discovered that wine is the best thing to pre-game with here. Seems lik the new standard with the group is going to be buying these $1.65 bottles of wine at the local mart, down them at the local castle and then go to the bars - gotta do what you gotta do!Tonight we're gonna try to rage in Geneva, and still make the 9:15 train for Gruyere tomorrow. Until next time...
